The meetup has been canceled, Skynet and myself are willing to host people in and near our towns if anyone is interested.. After dedicating focus on bringing new life back into TAS we will look into another meetup.

For ideas on what people want for our server.

This is what I wanna set up so far. Any ideas people want to see on our server will get amended to this as well with the idea of keeping things fair and balanced as well as enjoyable and not horribly tedious.

Trader Faction = Purely PVE only access to PVE worlds

Explorer Faction = PVE/PVP access to PVE and PVP Worlds

Guardian Faction = PVP Faction Run by TAS, acts as a kind of policing group, should be the idea of keeping things from getting crazy. Access to PVE/PVP/Admin worlds

Pirate Faction = PVP No Tas involvement. Only access to PVP worlds

Not playing empyrion just yet, but I'm thinking of getting it real soon, so I'll just go ahead and say Guardian Faction cause it's the best of all cases, but in a regulated manner so that trigger happy people don't go blowing shit up for no reason (see ARK and how your thatch hut you spent 5 hours building on your first day playing cause you had no idea what to do, just gets decimated the moment you log out by some "mighty" warrior on a t-rex with nothing to gain from stomping you other than making up for his incompetence syndrome). Cause both PvE and PvP are fun as hell. Difference is unregulated PvP can make people real d!ck$.

Theres like four factions and you can make little groups in each faction.

I got a little experience setting up Empy servers. Just wanted to forward along information I have to help you get started:
EAH (Empyrion Admin Helper) was originally developed for the HWS server, and now officially included in the Empy Dedicated Server software (Programmed by Jascha this tool is the best one available for Empyrion to help Admins to manage their server.

My suggestions: Adjust despawn 'unvisited structure' timer of bases and units to be greater than default to 1 month at least. Setup playworld backups to 2 a day at minimum. Other servers often get corruption and have to do a rollback. Having more backups eases the strain on players losing produced factory items, inventory or work loss due to the rollback. Perhaps tweak the anti grief distance of deposits to be less than default, so you can place defenses close enough as needed. Enable the Turret under terrain bug option in EAH (so that turrets cannot fire beneath terrain, seeing they cannot be targeted. common exploit). As you get more regular players, you will need to restart the server more often to clear memory leaks that have yet to be cleared. EAH now supports crosslinking of servers, so that you can add the ability to 'warp' between servers to expand the universe which should be considered in the future. If you need help, let me know. I got friends who love PvP and could bring them all in. To save time, you can edit one of the custom scenarios available in game or workshop which is basically different solar systems and PDA objectives. These can be easily edited to switch planets to pvp from pve, change or add POIs etc etc. The server we are playing on lately is inflicted, which uses the Voodoo2 scenario, and they edit for their taste, add custom planets etc. They have a pretty good setup and I suggest playing it a bit for ideas. My only dislike with it is there are only 15 PvP systems out of 180+ playfields. But the voodoo2 scenario is a good setup.InflictedMAP_1510794964.png

I got a test server for battletesting our creations. I dont usually keep it up all the time, but could leave it up more often and provide admin access as needed to get a feel.
